BRIEF / To create an elegant interior respecting and emphasising the stunning natural features of the 20th century listed building

Designers Notes.

Built originally in 1903 by Mary, Duchess of Bedford, Maryland was described as one of the best preserved early 20th century cottage hospitals. The Grade II listed building was then considerately converted in to a collection of luxurious residential spaces so the interior had to emulate class and sophistication as well as respecting the features of the apartment such as the double height barrelled ceiling and framed glass windows.

The interior juxtaposes delicate tones of ivory, platinum and oyster in the furniture and window dressings with subtle hues of eau de nil in the fabrics and accessories. The decorative wall lights and oversized pendants accompanied with the ivory velvet knowle sofas in the living room add a real sense of grandeur to the space.
